Session Times

• Saturday mornings: 8:00 – 9:30
• Last entry: 9:00

Requirements

• Minimum age: 8 years old
• Ages 8–11: Adult (18+) in the water supervising at all times
• Ages 12–15: Adult (18+) on site at all times
• 16+ years: May swim without adult supervision on site
• Swimming ability: Able to swim at least 500m in open water
• Induction: Must read and understand the Open Water Swimming Induction on first visit each year

Wetsuits

• Ages 8–11:
  • Compulsory if water is below 20°C
  • Optional if water is 20°C or higher
• All swimmers:
  • Not recommended if water is 20°C or higher
  • Compulsory if water is below 12°C

Swimmer Safety

• Bring and wear a brightly coloured swim hat and/or a tow float
• Both together are strongly recommended
• All swimming supervised by trained staff:
  • Staff will assess ability at water entry
  • If deemed unsuitable, swimmers must leave the water immediately
  • No refunds given; managers cannot overrule safety staff

Important to Know

• In open water, swim time and distance are reduced by about 50%
• Example: 500m in a pool ≈ 250m in open water
